US President George W. Bush visited Warsaw, and First Lady Barbara Bush visited a Jewish elementary school in Warsaw. Strehlau was briefly in a relationship with the director of that school. She gave Strehlau’s documentary films to the First Lady. They watched them during their flight to their next destination in Europe.
